Point of difference

Come and visit our Cellar Door to sample our award-winning wines and famous platters.

Just 5km east of Kurow, delicious food, fine wine, coffee and craft beer on our spacious deck while overlooking our picturesque vineyard and beyond to the mountains. On a colder day we will have the log fire waiting to keep you warm and cozy.

Open August through to June 7 days per week from 10am-6pm.

Our food menu supports local produce wherever possible, with local Salmon and Whitestone cheese being very popular. We are also the largest stockist of all of the fantastic wines produced in the Waitaki Valley.

We look forward to seeing you.

Cheers, Paul & Alisa

River-T Wines was planted in 2007 as a small boutique vineyard with a mix of grape varieties on the banks of the Waitaki River near Kurow.

This site was selected for this historic fruit cropping ability, high growing degree days, rich alluvial soil entwined with limestone and its northerly aspect.
This complex geology means the Waitaki wines are notable for their distinctive minerality, crisp acidity and complexity of fruit flavours.

We hand harvest our grapes from the end of April until mid-May making it one of the last places to harvest in New Zealand.

River-T Wines philosophy is to remain a small, unique vineyard and focus on quality from the paddock to the glass.

Enjoy the wine as it is everything this beautiful region has to offer... in a glass.
