Point of difference

Ostler Wine is a boutique wine producer and pioneers of wine production in the Waitaki Valley. Our internationally award winning wines come from distinct and unique vineyard sites with 100% or our fruit grown in the Waitaki Valley.

Ostler Vineyards is a boutique producer of wines of distinction in the South Island’s Waitaki Valley. From select and hand-tended vineyards we produce memorable cool climate wines: Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Riesling and now Gewurztraminer.

It’s all about terroir:
• Uncompromising standards of cool-climate viticulture
• Growing grapes in the Waitaki Valley – New Zealand’s newest premium wine region
• Passionately producing wines of elegance and balance

The wine-making is carried out with as little intervention as possible by Jeff Sinnott using the traditional techniques of Burgundy and Alsace, with subtle use of oak.

Our cellar door is the 'Vintner's Drop' - located in the heart of Kurow in the Old Post Office. Here we offer Ostler wine tastings and retail sales along with something light to eat.

From Labour Weekend to Easter we are open from Thursday through Sunday, during the peak summer season we are open 7 days.

During the winter we are closed for tastings and bottle sales except for group tastings which are available by prior arrangement.
