It is a great place to stop in and have a bite to eat in their cafe, or make Enfield a destination and dine in for the evening.

The Fort is in the village of Enfield and overlooks the countryside. Ideally set directly beside the Alps to Ocean Cycle Trail, 12km from Oamaru.

Located on the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail just 12km from Oamaru, the pub and sun bathed patio area offer great views of the idyllic Waireka valley.

Alternatively, cycle or drive the short distance from Oamaru to enjoy a hearty pub lunch or coffee on your tour of the scenic countryside or Alps 2 Ocean excursion.

Heading towards the Ocean on the Cycle Trail the Fort is 42km from Duntroon, 35km from Elephant Rocks, 16km from Rakis Tunnel and 5km from Elderslie Estate.
So if you have cycled all of that, the Fort will be the ideal location to take on board liquid refereshments and sustenance before the final push to Oamaru...

The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is a grade 2-3 (easy to intermediate) cycle trail. There are a variety of trail surfaces. Riders are advised to take certain essentials with them (e.g. first aid, repair kit, water, food). Parts of the trail pass through alpine environments, where conditions can change.
