Point of difference

The DUNTROON HOTEL is situated in the small rural township of Duntroon, 2 hours cycle ride towards the coast from Kurow and one days ride to the trail's end at Oamaru.

This iconic country pub has been servicing the local community since 1881, from the goldmining era of the nearby Maerewhenua River and Danseys Pass areas to the present day, and has many stories to tell.
The building has recently undergone an extensive rebuild of the downstairs, and our Bar/Café and Restaurant re-opened in February 2019 and has rapidly gained a reputation for superb food from our a-la carte menu and counter cabinet, barista coffee and friendly service. A comprehensive range of local beers and wines is also on offer.

The renovation of our upstairs accommodation is now complete with bookings available from 15th October 2020 for our newly established, very comfortable, 7 ensuited twin/double rooms and a 2 room apartment (sleeps 4).

Lunchtime and evening casual dining available 7 days (bookings preferred) from Labour weekend to end of April.

Check our website www.duntroonhotel.co.nz for opening hours.

Takeaway lunches for cyclists available to order. Ph. 0274 334 180
