Oamaru depot - Follow Eden Street into Ardgowan Road, located first property on the left past 80kmh sign. Omarama Depot - situated in the Information Centre, Omarama Avenue, Opposite the Top 10 Holiday Park.


Trail Adventures - A2O Trail Specialists, is an Oamaru and Omarama based company which has been created to provide you with everything that you will need for your Alps 2 Ocean adventure. We will create you a personalised itinerary and provide all of the equipment that you'll need for your journey.

We are a local family owned and operated business with a passion for our region and the A2O Cycle Trail.

Our tours can be set up and personalised to suit the clients needs or you can join one of our very popular 8 night supported tours. We are happy to work with all budgets and requirements and we understand that all fitness levels need to be catered for.

We provide client transport, luggage shuttle, breakdown / incident support, car storage and we'll even arrange all of your accommodation for you. We offer airport pickup / drop off from Christchurch or Queenstown to start and/or finish your tour.

TRANSPORT
We offer shuttle services to any part of the trail by prior arrangement - enquire about costs.

CYCLE HIRE

We have a fleet of Merida hybrid bikes, 27.5 Mountain bikes and amazing Merida E bikes that are extremely popular with our clients. We have chosen our preferred fleet based on six years of experience operating on the A2O cycle trail.

Our standard equipment package consists of:

Hybrid or Mountain bike
Helmet
Pannier bags
Drink bottle cage
Comfort handle grips
Toolkit
Pump
(All other cycling equipment is for sale via our Omarama depot - gel seat covers, cycling shorts, gloves, socks, tops, jackets, A2O merchandise, etc)

Our bike hire rates start at $40 / per day (based on a seven day hire).


We can offer storage for bikes and vehicles on site also if required.

FAQs

The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is a grade 2-3 (easy to intermediate) cycle trail. There are a variety of trail surfaces. Riders are advised to take certain essentials with them (e.g. first aid, repair kit, water, food). Parts of the trail pass through alpine environments, where conditions can change.

Located in the South Island of New Zealand, halfway between Christchurch and Queenstown, is the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail. It is recommended that you start your ride from Aoraki/Mt Cook - though there are numerous access points along the trail from which to start or end your ride.
