Directions from nearest town

96kms from Timaru Airport to Tekapo. We also have a connection from Oamaru to Timaru Airport (97kms) to get you home again.

BeSpoke Bike Tours is located in the stunning, scenic village of Lake Tekapo. We'll design your Alps2Ocean cycle tour based on your timeframe and budget. We also offer A2O package tours that begin twice monthly from 1st October to mid April.

WHAT WE DO: BeSpoke Bike Tours endeavour to provide our clients with the best possible cycle tour experience. We specialise in small group tours with a maximum of eight people. We have flexibility around tour planning. We can do it all for you, or you design your tour, rent our bikes and avail of our shuttle service.

EXPERIENCES: We have a range of options for you to choose from on the A2O Cycle Trail. We specialise in the alpine trail sections and have designed two new tours: Totally Scenic, and The Alpine Attack.

TOTALLY SCENIC: Enjoy the stunning scenery of the lakes sections from Tekapo to Twizel, Twizel to Lake Ohau Lodge, Lake Ohau Lodge to Omarama. Included in the package is a scenic flight and a four wheel drive tour.

ALPINE ATTACK: The Alpine Attack is truly a special experience for those wanting to really treat themselves to some of the most spectacular alpine scenery. The trip starts with a short heli-hop from Aoraki/Mt Cook across to Tasman Point, and ends in Omarama.

THE BENMORE BEAUTY: Epic One-Day Trip: ride from Omarama to Otematata around the new Lake Benmore Section. It is an absolute winner. We provide bike hire - either Ebike or push bike, a driver for the day, and a picnic lunch.

TRANSPORT: we can shuttle you from Timaru Airport to Tekapo. We can assist you when making arrangements from Christchurch to Tekapo. If you need safe vehicle storage, and a vehicle relocation, we can do that too! We offer bike box storage at the Timaru Airport for clients who have their own bikes.

BAG TRANSFERS: no problem! We can arrange that for you.

CYCLE HIRE: our push bike fleet includes GT Aggressor hardtail mountain bikes, set up with pannier bags, or Topeak trunk bags for those who want to travel light. Our E bike fleet includes Ladies Giant Liv Rove E+ : extra small, small and medium. Ladies Giant Tempt E bikes, medium. Giant Talon E Plus 2 for the lads: medium, large and XL. These bikes are great for any of the A2O sections. Helmets and pannier racks included.

The Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is a grade 2-3 (easy to intermediate) cycle trail. There are a variety of trail surfaces. Riders are advised to take certain essentials with them (e.g. first aid, repair kit, water, food). Parts of the trail pass through alpine environments, where conditions can change.

Located in the South Island of New Zealand, halfway between Christchurch and Queenstown, is the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail. It is recommended that you start your ride from Aoraki/Mt Cook - though there are numerous access points along the trail from which to start or end your ride.
