In 2007 the first grape vines were planted on the River-T Estate property on the banks of the Waitaki River, 5km east of Kurow township.

This site was chosen for its high growing degree days, rich alluvial soil entwined with limestone and northerly aspect. It has proven to be a winning combination with consistent crops every year since 2009 and quality of grapes that has flowed through into ethereal wines that represent everything about this pristine region.

Grapes from River-T Estate have been sought after from recognized Otago winemakers like Grant Taylor (Valli Vineyards) who make their Waitaki label from this fruit.

This constant producing of top quality grapes meant time was right for Murray Turner and his partner Karen Tweed to launch the River-T Estate brand.

River-T Estate philosophy is to remain a small, unique vineyard and focus totally on quality from the paddock to the glass.

River-T Estate wines include Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Pinot Rose. Chardonnay has been planted and will be ready for harvest in the next 2 years .

Wines can be purchased at local outlets in the Waitaki Valley as well as at the premises of River-T Estate and online through the website.

Enjoy the wines as it is everything the beautiful region has in a bottle.

Cheers Murray and Karen
