Not a Rail Trail is the Queenstown based company specializing in NZ Cycle Trail Great Rides. “We don’t just show you where to ride, we provide you with a complete experience that allows you to love each trail as much as we do”…

Starting and finishing in Queenstown, the Not a Rail Trail A2O Experience is a 7 day, 6 night, stress free way to ride the entire A2O cycle trail. We have designed our tours to give you a full local experience and we’ve selected accommodation options and food choices to complement this. We provide a complete package that includes everything for you, your meals, accommodation, all side trips, basic bike repairs, we shuttle you when you’re tired and even supply a toilet tent when needed. We include everything in our prices (except alcohol!) so there are no surprise extras.

Along with our local brand, A2O Cycle Tours, we are the only cycle tour company with a concession to take you to the Glacier Lakes in the Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park to view the icebergs before you start the trail. We're also one of the few companies who helps you to ride the entire trail by flying you, by helicopter, from Mt Cook Airport, across the Tasman River to the official start point at Tasman Point. After the stunning alpine region of the first 4 sections in the Southern Alps, we lead you along the trail as it meanders through the Waitaki Valley, past the hydro electricity lakes and along through the Vanished World limestone wonders on the way to Oamaru at the Pacific Ocean.

The riding is spread over 6 days, with the stopping points arranged to ensure the cycling is achievable for most abilities and average fitness levels. Our scheduled cycle tours are small groups of no more than 10 people in order to maximize our service; yet, we are still able to customize tours for larger private groups, if required.

To join one of our scheduled tours or to arrange a private itinerary just for you and your friends, call or email us for more information.
